Delineation of Formal Region: Weighted Index

Formal region is a homogeneous region which is defined by homogeneity of one or more criteria. Weighted index method is a method of combining multi-criteria into composite index where different weights are given to the variables before combining them into single composite variable(Weighted index). Finally, the composite index (weighted index) is used for grouping the aerial units into different regions of different level of achievements. Grouping of the weighted index values of the areal units can be done in different ways: 1. Simple Average 2. Geometric Mean 3. Normalised by sum of weights etc.
